Research areas of the Lab

  • Study of characteristics of the new solid-state active media (glass, crystal, ceramics, doped with the ions of Nd3+, Yb3+, etc.) having the prospect of application in laser-drivers for LTF;
  • Study of the physical processes in solid-state laser media, including a nonlinear interaction of radiation with a laser system optical medium, the mechanisms of nonlinear losses and limitations of power and radiation brightness in the optical laser channel, the failure mechanisms of solid-state laser media when exposed to the intense radiation;
  • Research and development of the methods of inversion profiling in the active medium, the mode composition forming, spatial and angular, temporal and spectral characteristics and a radiation polarization in the solid-state lasers with selective (laser, semiconductor) pumping; development of a circuit design for the optical channel of solid-state laser systems;
  • Research and development of the methods of amplification and nonlinear transformation of laser beams with non-traditional (non-Gaussian) intensity and polarization profiles to use in the experiments on radiation with matter interaction.
